Henrik Oftedal won the 2012 Norseman Extreme Triathlon in a time of 10:23:42 and thus broke Bjorn Andersson’s course record from 2005. Annett Finger smashed the women’s course record in a fantastic time of 12:17:04.

Nicola Spirig won an electrifying photo finish by a tiny fraction of a second over fast-closing Lisa Norden to win the Olympic women’s triathlon in London; Erin Densham won bronze, Sarah Groff took 4th and home country favorite Helen Jenkins was 5th.
