In his 10th year as a pro, Brandon Marsh took dead aim on qualifying for his first Ironman World Championship. He did it with a clutch runner-up finish against a quality field at Ironman Mt. Tremblant last weekend.
XTERRA veteran Will Kelsay was hit by a pickup truck with a trailer while cycling to a swim workout in Boulder, Colorado Wednesday; Kelsay was treated and released at a local hospital and his bike was destroyed.
According to a Bay Area-based ABC affiliate, Ironman champion Meredith Kessler was charged with felony hit and run after police in San Francisco trace the accident to a vehicle she was driving.

German XTERRA Pro Felix Schumann took the win at the 5,500 meter (18,800 feet) climbing 2013 Inferno Triathlon in 8:42:47. Sonja Gerster from Switzerland took the women’s title and was the first woman to go sub 10 hours here.

Alpe d’Huez champion Ritchie Nicholls had a superb day in Wiesbaden and closed it out with a 1:08:53 run to take the 70.3 European Champs in front of Jan Frodeno. Daniela Ryf ran down Annabel Luxford to take the women’s title in 4:31:34.
