Terenzo Bozzone beat out defending champion Timothy O’Donnell to take the 2010 Ironman 70.3 St. Croix title. Catriona Morrison’s 4:31:06 gave her the win and placed her in the top 10 of the Pro men.
Hunter Kemper got away from his competitors late in the race to take the win at the 2010 Escape from Alcatraz triathlon. Leanda Cave battled Jenna Shoemaker all the way on her way to the title in the women’s race.
Michael Raelert and Julie Dibens, 2009 Ironman 70.3 World Champions, continued their domination of the distance with record and near record performances at Wildflower.
When you get to the 58cm size, tri bikes diverge geometrically. Why? Because they can. The height of these bikes is similar, one to the next. But in reach, there’s more of a divergence.
At about 51cm or 52cm you enter a size range where just about everybody’s bikes are built with 700c wheels. Here, there’s a convergence of geometry, but a divergence in handling.
Austrian Michael Weiss rode away from the field and closed out his day with a sub 3 hour run to win the inaugural Ironman St. George. Heather Wurtele took the women’s race and has now two Ironman titles to her name.
Luke McKenzie added another feather to his cap by winning the 2010 Busselton Half Ironman with a very strong performance. Lisa Marangon was dominant in the women’s race and held off Kate Bevilaqua by 5 minutes.

What is important? What ought to matter? The answers depend on who you are and what are you’re trying to achieve. You are a tri bike’s designer, for the purpose here; good steering geometry the goal.

Terenzo Bozzone took down Chris Lieto’s lead at mile 11 and held off Timothy O’Donnell’s charge by 29 seconds to win the Memorial Hermann Ironman 70.3 Texas. Samantha McGlone took the women’s title.
Cameron Dye beat out a stellar field to take the win at the 2010 St. Anthony’s Triathlon in St. Petersburg, Florida. Sarah Haskins led from start to finish and grabbed the women’s title.
Valentin Meshcheryakov of Russia outsprinted Japan’s Yuichi Hosoda to win the Ishigaki ITU World Cup and earn his first podium finish. Early leader Clayton Fettell from Australia fell to 5th on the run.
Three-time Olympian Kiyomi Niwata of Japan outran Liz Blatchford of Great Britain to take an 11-second margin of victory at the Ishigaki ITU World Cup. Japan’s Tomoko Sakimoto rounded out the podium.
If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again seems to be the motto of Collegiate National Champion Chris Stehula. The tall Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo student actually has been attempting for quite a while to take this title.
This Plasma is the longest in the tooth of the three Plasma framesets. It’s still got plenty of life and relevance. Even so, it would benefit from a couple of design and spec upgrades.
Is this bike the last of an era? The bike aboard which Levi, Lance and Alberto won so many grand tour TTs prepares, perhaps, to slide off into history. The Equinox TTX 9.0 is part of that lineage.
