At the 2013 US Pro Cycling TT Champs we managed to check out the SRAM & Zipp equipped Felt DA race bike of Alison Tetrick of team Exergy TWENTY16.
Greg and Laura Bennett dominated the men’s and women’s fields at Ironman 70.3 Raleigh; Greg used a dominant bike and run to win by 13 minutes 17 seconds and Laura won by 3:56 over Emma-Kate Lidbury.
Another brilliant performance by Jonathan Brownlee allowed him to take the win at the 2013 ITU World Triathlon Series event in Madrid, Spain. Javier Gomez finished second and Ivan Vasiliev finished third.
Joe Gambles took the win at the 2013 Revolution3 Quassy Triathlon with Richie Cunningham in second place and Bevan Docherty in third. Heather Wurtele bested Heather Jackson to take the women’s title.
Heavy rain and cold temperatures had changed the Ironman 70.3 Switzerland to a duathlon, but a landslide and a falling tree early on during the bike segment forced organizers to stop the race and abort the event.
Australians Clayton Fettell and Emma Moffatt won the men’s and women’s titles at the Coral Coast 5150 in Cairns; Fettell edged ITU star Brad Kahlefeldt by 1:10 while Moffatt dominated the women by a 14:12 margin.
The very talented Non Stanford stormed to her first ITU World Triathlon Series win in Madrid, Spain with German Anne Haug in second place and fellow Brit Jodie Stimpson on the final podium spot.
Bertrand Billard of France is the new ITU Long Distance World Champion and Melissa Hauschildt of Australia bested the women’s field in this 9.5km run, 87km bike, 20km run event that had to be changed to a duathlon because of unusually cold temps.
Three-time Ironman World Champion Craig Alexander crushed the bike and tied for fastest run to take the men’s title; Belinda Granger inherited the women’s win when Bree Wee ran off course at Ironman 70.3 Hawaii.
