Valencia World Triathlon Cup canceled, T100 race to be relocated

World Triathlon and the Professional Triathletes Organization (PTO) have announced that the World Triathlon Cup in Valencia, Spain, has been canceled. A T100 race was slated for the same weekend. The World Triathlon Cup Valencia was originally scheduled for September 20, 2025, with the T100 event, scheduled for the same day. The T100 race will reportedly still run, but it will be relocated.

According to a press release from World Triathlon, the decision to cancel the world cup race came after “a series of circumstances” led to “various uncertainties” that would prevent officials and organizers from meeting the same standards the event has seen in years past.

“It is in the interest of all institutions to return to organizing the world cup in the future, meeting the maximum demands and level that Valencia has had until now,” the release reads. The issue apparently surrounds the race venue itself, and with only six weeks to go until the scheduled race date, officials were unable to find an alternative, “viable” option.

The pro races for the T100 event will go ahead as scheduled on Sept. 20, but there is no word on where the race will be held. World Triathlon and the PTO have said they will release news on this move “as soon as they are available.”

Be honest: do you know how to change a flat on your bike?

If given the choice, you prefer to ride a wheel that is:

Do you believe that hookless wheels are unsafe, or simply not for you?
