Looks high quality. Lifetime sets a pretty high bar. This appears to be similar. Midsouth was a disaster.
Lauren Hall isn’t bad to listen to. First time I’ve heard Stetina on commentary, and so far so good!

trying to understand this event. It’s not a true world championship. A RD named their event “worlds,” and hence it gets a bunch of attention? I know of a weekly gravel ride in VT called “Gravel Worlds,” why is this one getting attention for being something more than it seems to be?
Because it was ANNOUNCED IN ALL CAPS

The race GRAVEL WORLDS entered its 17th year in 2026. Long before the UCI decided to even consider gravel bike racing a thing yet alone worthy of what they consider to be a “World Championship” in 2022 So it’s just one of this things that seems to be a bit confusing for some in recent years. The race has also long owned the trade mark of Gravel Worlds.
It started around 2010 if I remember correctly. (I’m from the area) They named it Gravel Worlds as a joke since nothing like it existed back then. It was basically a FU to USAC and all the rules they had. The original crew thought we can just have a race with the only rule is “Don’t Be A Dick”. You had cue sheets and would ride the course and buy lottery tickets at certain stops. Then the first rider turned in the lottery tickets and was declared the winner. Over the years it has grown into what it is now. Most of the original organizers have gone but still put on “Spirit of Gravel Rides” in smaller towns in the area.
