2026 IRONMAN Foundation Laulima Auction is Live, Features 3 Kona Slots and More

The IRONMAN Foundation today launched their 2026 Laulima Auction, one of the largest fundraisers that the Foundation has throughout the year. This year there are 56 different items up for auction, including three different entries to the IRONMAN World Championship over the next two seasons.

Before we talk about the prizes, let’s cover off on the auction itself and what it benefits. The name of the auction comes from the Hawaiian pillar principle Laulima, which means many hands working together. The Laulima Auction, then, is the annual online auction that benefits the IRONMAN Foundation and its mission to leave a positive impact in race communities through volunteerism efforts and grants. According to the IRONMAN website, that positive impact looks like $60 million USD in giveback to more than 10,000 different organizations since the Foundation was founded in 2003.

Of that $60 million, roughly 5.3% of it has gone to programs and services in Hawaii, funded in part due to the Laulima Auction and the Foundation’s other large fundraiser during Kona Week, the Underpants Run. Projects that these activities have helped fund in Hawaii include donations to the Kona YMCA, the Kona Community Aquatic Center, and the Hawaii Island Community Health Center.

The way the auction works is somewhat simple. You can choose an item to bid on, and choose to either place a straight bid, or a maximum bid. If it’s a straight bid, that’s effectively your maximum; if someone immediately outbids you, you need to bid again. If you choose to max bid, you set the maximum you’re willing to put in, and you remain the winner until someone comes over the top of your maximum. There are, of course, Buy Now prices for certain items.

The Foundation has set fair market values for each one of the items. Any bid amount that exceeds the fair market value of an item is considered a charitable donation to the Foundation. So, as an example, there is one item with a fair market value of $7,500, which currently has a bid approaching $50,000. The $42,500 difference between the bid amount and the fair market value would be considered the tax-free donation to the Foundation.

Now, for the part you’ve been waiting for: what’s up for grabs in the auction. We’ll break these down into a few different categories.

Three Ways to Kona (and one to 70.3 Worlds, too)

We’ll lead off with the top-line: there are four World Championship opportunities available via the auction. Three of them will get you to the start line in Hawaii.

The first is simple: it’s a 2027 IRONMAN World Championship slot in Kona, racing under the IRONMAN Foundation banner. The current bid as of this writing sits at over $37,000, with the Buy Now price at *ahem* $65,000. The second is what is being called the Ultimate Championship Package. That will net you an entry into both the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in 2027 in Chattanooga, TN as well as the Kona slot. The Buy Now offering there sits at $99,000.

Given those prices, the third option might be the best value to get you to Kona. Granted, you have to wait a year until the 2028 IRONMAN World Championship — but that will mark the 50th Anniversary of the event. Win this item, and not only are you getting an entry into the 2028 race, but you’ll also get the opportunity to train and race alongside IRONMAN legend Julie Moss, 46 years after her infamous crawl to the finish. The current bid as of this writing sits at $49,000, with a Buy Now price of $79,000 — so a $14,000 premium for the opportunity to race with Moss and to do it in the anniversary year.

Lastly, there’s a solo IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship slot for the 2027 event in Chattanooga, again along side the IRONMAN Foundation. It, by comparison, features a Buy Now price of $20,0000.

Other Race Entries and Packages

If your budget is *cough* slightly more modest than what the World Championship slots are going for, there’s still plenty of races for you to bid on. That includes eight different races that are already sold out for the 2027 season. Those are:

• 2027 IRONMAN Hamburg Individual Race Entry
• 2027 IRONMAN Kalmar-Sweden Individual Race Entry
• 2027 IRONMAN Copenhagen Individual Race Entry
• 2027 IRONMAN 70.3 Venice-Jesolo Individual Race Entry
• 2027 IRONMAN 70.3 Westfriesland Individual Race Entry
• 2027 IRONMAN 70.3 Elsinore Individual Race Entry
• 2027 IRONMAN 70.3 Mont-Tremblant TEAM IMF Entry and Medaling Race Package
• 2027 Salomon IRONMAN 70.3 Oregon TEAM IMF Entry and Medaling Race Package

There’s also entries available to a few other events that, although they haven’t sold out, are proving to be pretty popular.

• 2027 IRONMAN 70.3 Dallas-Little Elm TEAM IMF Entry and Race Package
• 2027 IRONMAN 70.3 Dignity Health Northern California TEAM IMF Entry and Medaling Race Package
• 2027 IRONMAN California TEAM IMF Entry and Medaling Race Package
• 2027 IRONMAN Jacksonville TEAM IMF Entry and Medaling Race Package

Not looking to do a triathlon next year? Well, IRONMAN is pulling from its portfolio of running races for entries to bid on. That includes a sizable package of Rock n Roll Half Marathon entries for one winner. Here are your running options:

• 2027 USA Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Entry Package (12 Race Entries)
• TAO Las Vegas Dinner and Nightlife with 4 Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas 1/2 Marathon Entries
• 2027 USA UTMB Race Entry of Choice

And, in the event that you’d rather just spectate some racing, and rather than human racing you prefer car racing, there’s a VIP Race Experience for the 2027 Daytona 500 available.

Pro Athlete Experiences

The IRONMAN Foundation has long partnered with pro athletes as ambassadors. The current pro most often associated with the Foundation is none other than Matthew Marquardt. There are two different items up for bid involving Marquardt. Also available are experiences with long time ambassadors Mirinda Carfrae and Tim O’Donnell, three-time IRONMAN World Champion Patrick Lange, and IRONMAN legends Julie Moss, Paula Newby-Fraser, and Craig Alexander.

Here are the eight different pro athlete experiences you can bid on:

• Day of Training (and Life) with Pro Triathlete Matthew Marquardt
• 30-Minute Zoom Call with Matthew Marquardt + Lego Bike Built and Signed by Matt
• 45-Minute Zoom Call with Mirinda Carfrae and Timothy O’Donnell
• 30-Minute Zoom Call with Patrick Lange + his 2025 World Championship Cheetah Swim Start Robe
• Day of Training with Pro Triathletes Danielle Lewis and Carolyn Olsen
• 30-Minute Zoom Call with Paula Newby-Fraser
• 30-Minute Zoom Call with Craig “Crowie” Alexander
• Lunch with IRONMAN Hall of Fame Member Julie Moss

Because I am a nerd, I’d probably be bidding on the Zoom Call and Lego Bike with Marquardt.

Merchandise

Lastly, there’s a whole lot of different packages of gear available. Some of it is from IRONMAN sponsors, like ROKA wetsuits or Quintana Roo bikes. There’s also a few legacy items out there, like the banner from the first IRONMAN Lake Placid back in 1999. And there’s also some signed merchandise from winners of races, like the finishing tapes from those races.

Then there’s also the item I would bid on, which is a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve 20 year. But I digress.

At any rate, here’s the merchandise listings.
