2012 Lygna Winter Triathlon
Earlier this year the Winter Triathlon European Cup took place in Lygna, Norway and Kristian Monsen and Borghild Løvset came away with the wins. Athletes in this event had to run 6k, bike 10k and cross country ski 8k before they were able to return to warmer places.
We are very sorry about the delay with this gallery, but in this case surely better late than never.

A very clean and orderly transition area is key in every triathlon.
All tied down and ready to go, but no trimming of the zip tie here.
No shortage of snow in this part of Norway.
Winter triathlons require a bit clothing in transition.
Very relaxed and calm.
No shorts and flip flops for these volunteers.
Spectators are also well bundled up.
And they are off.
Kristian Monsen took charge during the run. Note the traction support on his running shoes.
The chase pack lost almost 3 minutes on the leader.
A quick transition is appreciated.
Eventually Ola G Bustad would finish 3rd.
It is good to get started early.
Race leader Monsen was tops in each discipline.
It does look cold, doesn't it?
Monsen with 8k of skiing to go.
Crossing the line for the win.
Women's race winner Borghild Løvset crossing the finish line.
The much coveted medals.
The podium in Lygna.
