We Noticed: supertri Relaunches NXT Gen Program, USA Triathlon Lands New Partners for 2025

As part of its ongoing push into the age-group market, supertri has announced the relaunch of its NXT Gen initiative, which looks to identify five individuals from their race markets to feature and highlight their respective stories.

In a release, supertri says that the program will help these individuals inspire others: “By providing direct support and storytelling opportunities, supertri aims to showcase the diverse paths that lead people to triathlon and inspire others to take their first step into the sport.”

Individuals must be nominated for the program by others within their local communities. Nominees should “exemplify passion, resilience, and the drive to push boundaries in the sport.” Those selected for the program will then be featured by supertri across their respective platforms.

Supertri is seeking these individuals within their five key markets:

  • Chicago
  • Toulouse
  • London
  • Austin
  • Long Beach

In a statement, supertri founder and CEO, Michael D’hulst said: NXT Gen represents everything we believe about the future of triathlon – accessibility, diversity, and passion. By amplifying these incredible stories, we want to show that triathlon is for everyone, that every journey into the sport is worth celebrating and grow the sport we love. We’re building a community around Supertri and NXT Gen is one of the ways we will celebrate the people who make that community so special and impactful.”

USA Triathlon Adds New Partners for 2025 and Beyond

USA Triathlon‘s Senior Director of Foundation Operations and Partnerships Ben Pickel has been a very busy man as of late. Pickel, who joined USAT last year, has led a charge that has seen more than a half dozen partners announced over the last six weeks.

The latest of these is a partnership with Garmin. Garmin is now the official cycling computer, GPS watch, heart rate monitor, power meter, and bike trainer of USA Triathlon.

It comes on the heels of a series of announcements, such as their partnership with Neumafit, providing USA Triathlon’s Project Podium high-performance development squad with Neumafit’s personal CPET devices. It allows athletes to access data on VO2max, lactate threshold, and FatMax without requiring lab equipment and as a result, in theory, reduces cost.

Other key agreements reached recently see HydraPak and ROKA as official suppliers in key categories. USAT also is one of many groups to partner with buyCycle, the used bike marketplace. And there’s also movement with the Foundation, with Mark Allen partnering to provide strategic guidance on philanthropic efforts and enhance connection with the endurance community and donors.
