General Information
Registration fees included or disclosed up front?: Yes, all registration/convenience fees are included in price or disclosed up front. Course Info: The swim is in beautiful, crystal clear Lake Michigan, which can sometimes get a little rough, so you need to understand that. Of course your safety is always our first priority and will not be compromised. Most years the water has been smooth, but it is well documented that Lake Michigan can get violent and cold literally in an hour?s time. So you need to understand when participating in any event on the Great Lakes, this is possible.
The bike is shaded almost the entire way with rolling smooth roads.
The run course is flat, except at the long course turnaround. This year?s finish line has been moved off the beach, so no finish with stairs and a beach run. You will come back down the run out Bike In/Out downhill driveway. Overall this is a really fun, scenic course along Lake Michigan.
More: When you are on the beach in South Haven on South Beach looking out over beautiful, crystal clear Lake Michigan, it is easy to think Miami. South Haven is miles of white sandy beach with a great little downtown featuring unique stores and restaurants to visit. And of course, there?s the venue. This course will not disappoint, with both bike and run courses taking you along Lake Michigan and back. Both courses are flat and fast. You will have one short climb up out of the South Beach area.
Directions: This event is at a city park. There is limited parking in the city parking lots.
Map location is based off of a geocode of the addressed entered using Google's Google Maps API. If your address does not geocode properly, you can either update the address (we will attempt to re-geocode after any updates to your entry) or you can use Google's geocoding tool found here: http://gmaps-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/geocoder/singlegeocode.html to obtain a lat/long for your location and enter that. To use the utility, type in an address that is close to your location and then drag-and-drop the marker to obtain the desired lat/long. If you choose to enter a lat/long, you must check the box on the edit page that says, "override geocode with entered lat/long."
