Course Info: Herron Lake is a motor free lake, one of the few left out there. It is very clean and clear, you will have a rectangle course straight out, across 30m and back in.

Water temp has been in the 70s every year.

The bike is not only 100% closed to traffic, but it is fun and challenging - rolling to hilly at times. The perfect course for those looking for an exhillerating challenge. Communication is needed as it is a 3mi course, down and back equaling 6 miles. Three loops will complete the bike discipline and it is your responsibility to count laps. A fast downhill turn at the Transition Area end will require braking and handling and focus.

The run course is a trail run, entirely through the woods of the park. The course has been widened to accomodate several hundred runners for passing opportunities. This is a challenging run course, with lots of rolling hills, but it is never boring and a lot of fun to run.

More: We were the first to bring you multi-sport in Holly Recreation Area, developing the park with the cooperation from the park staff to be a great venue for triathlon. Holly Recreation Area provides a plethora of both rustic and modern camping sites as well as hiking, fishing and other family activities.

The course we have developed over 8 years now features a time trial swim start, straight out and back rectangle course. An entirely closed challenging bike course, rolling to hilly the entire route. It is a 4 mile straight to the back of the park, so you will complete 3 loops.

The run course is one of our top 3 favorite courses, cut specifically 4 years ago just for this event which will take you on a challenging trail run around the campground, some small ponds before you come out just past the modern campground entry point. Then it is one mile back down to the finish line.

Another great venue to bring the family for a nice picnic following the event.

Directions: This is a state park, all vehicles must have a Recreational Passport to enter the park. Michigan residents can purchase a passport at the Secretary of State when renewing vehicle tags or at the park office, the pass is good for an entire a year.

All non-residents can purchase a one day pass for $8.40 or an annual pass $33.40 at the park office. There is very limited parking that is a reason for the cap, so please plan to arrive early.

Map location is based off of a geocode of the addressed entered using Google's Google Maps API. If your address does not geocode properly, you can either update the address (we will attempt to re-geocode after any updates to your entry) or you can use Google's geocoding tool found here: http://gmaps-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/geocoder/singlegeocode.html to obtain a lat/long for your location and enter that. To use the utility, type in an address that is close to your location and then drag-and-drop the marker to obtain the desired lat/long. If you choose to enter a lat/long, you must check the box on the edit page that says, "override geocode with entered lat/long."
