General Information
Registration fees included or disclosed up front?: Yes, all registration/convenience fees are included in price or disclosed up front. Course Info: Swim ? The race starts from Granite Beach in Folsom Lake with a 1.5K swim from the beach area. The swim course will be a triangular course marked by the large white triangular buoys. Water temperature should be between 64-68 degrees. Wetsuits are recommended. The swim will exit the lake and head up the beach to the transition area located in the parking area.
Bike ? The 40K bike course will exit the State Park and travel on local roads through Placer County. Course maps will be available on race morning at Registration. The Bike course will NOT have an aid station. Water and electrolyte beverage, along with energy gels will be available in the transition area.
Run ? The run course has a combination of single track, pavement and fire road. The run will head south from Granite Beach along the lake and then transition to single track for a 1/4 mile. Next is a 1/2 mile pavement section. Just past mile one the run course turns left on the pavement toward the lake and then turns right on single track. A 1/4 mile later the run turns left on a dirt road (Pioneer Express Trail) toward Beals Point. There is a out/back section on the dirt road for a 1/2 mile past Mooney Ridge. After the out/back section the course has a 3/4 mile single track loop and returns along the out/back section to Mooney Ridge where the course climbs on single track up to the water tower. The course descends the water tower and finishes the final mile on single track.
More: First place Male and Female in the Folsom Lake International Triathlon will receive Overall Champion Awards. There will be awards five deep in each five-year age group and Relay Team awards for the Top team in each Division of Male, Female and Coed. All finishers will receive a custom Finisher Medal.
There is also a super sprint which starts an hour earlier. There is also an Aquabike and open water swim option that start 12 minutes after the main event.
