The Sprint and Olympic races begin with a swim in the calm waters of Joe Pool Lake at Cedar Hill State Park. Upon exiting the water, participants will run approx 100ft to T1 (Transition area 1)
The beautiful bike course leaves T1 and takes participants on a 14 mile loop (Olympic racers, you do 2 loops) through Cedar Hill ? complete with rolling hills and ending at T2 in the scenic Crawford Park.
Triathletes leave T2 for a flat and fast run ending back at the finish line party at Crawford Park.
Transition
The Sprint and Olympic races will use a two transition area format. T1 (swim to bike) and T2 (bike to run) are in different locations. Participants will ride their bicycles from T1 after the swim to T2, where they will begin the run.
Only participants, volunteers, USAT officials and staff are allowed in transition.
There will be mechanics race morning outside of T1 for any last minute bike maintenance needs. Once transition closes, you will not be allowed back in so make sure and arrive early.
There will be a mandatory bike check-in and bag drop for the sprint and olympic races Saturday June 9th. Bikes must be checked in by 7PM.
