Course Info: The 2018 triathlon on St. Croix, USVI will offer a Long Distance Course, Sprint and for the first time, a Sprint Aquathlon. Relays are offered in the Long Distance Course and Sprint Triathlon races. In addition, the Long Distance Course race is designated as the Caribbean Long Distance Triathlon Championship. This will mark the 30th year our beautiful island has hosted athletes from around the world, making this course one of the longest-running triathlons on record. Home to previous races such as ?America?s Paradise Triathlon? and ?IRONMAN 70.3? St. Croix?, St. Croix's new race is a must-do event for triathletes worldwide. A gorgeous swim in Christiansted harbor transitions to a scenic yet challenging ride that takes athletes up the world-famous 15% average grade climb known as ?The Beast?. The run goes east from Christiansted, through the glorious grounds of The Buccaneer Beach and Golf Resort.
More: This event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon. This year's race aims to raise funds for St. Croix Animal Welfare Center, My Brother's Table and Boys and Girls Club of St. Croix. These organizations were impacted by Hurricane Maria in September 2017.
Directions: The transition area for the race will be at Fort Christiansvaern in downtown Christiansted. Flights operate daily into St. Croix (airport code STX). American Airlines direct from Miami (MIA) twice daily or Charlotte (CLT) on Saturday, Delta direct from Atlanta (ATL) multi-weekly, Jet Blue direct from San Juan (SJU) daily, Spirit direct from Ft. Lauderdale (FLL) on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Inter-Caribbean Carriers include Seaborne Airlines From St Thomas (STT) or San Juan (SJU)
